A new family home in the Essex countryside, designed in a modern Essex vernacular style. The tree-lined plot was awkward, so we shaped and placed the barn-style house to make the most of the outlook, the path of the sun and the open country views. We took the design through to RIBA Stage 3 for the planning submission.
